Art dissemination-objects

In order to offer a more hands-on approach to experiencing and engaging with art, Nasjonalmuseet launched a project aimed at creating art dissemination objects for visitor interaction. These objects are part of the permanent exhibition known as "Samlingsutstillingen" and are placed in 30 different rooms. The objects in each of these rooms have a unique design that reflects the art surrounding them. All objects are designed and produced by Pivot.

The objects are manufactured at our studio located at Fellesverkstedet in Oslo. The primary materials utilized in the production include oak, Corian and Valchromat, with CNC milling being the primary production method. Additionally, we incorporated various techniques such as SLS printing, aluminum milling, laser engravings and more.

The intended target group is 6 to 12 years old. Nevertheless, every room features custom designed items that can captivate and engage visitors of all ages. Certain rooms offer specific activities such as memory games and puzzles, while others present more abstract activities that are open for interpretation - and if you look around while interacting with the objects you might recognise them in the surrounding art.
