Ski handle

The ski handle is developed for top level skiers, and research indicates that it gives increased force transfer by 3-4%. This is a significant increase in speed at top-level skiing. It is mainly achieved by reduced bending of the ski pole due to a more optimal geometry of the handle. The handle was developed in close collaboration with skier Jørgen Weidemann Eriksen, who did a lot of testing. We made many prototypes that have been lab tested with athletes at the Norwegian Olympic Sports Centre, Olympiatoppen.

The main delivery was facilitation of testing iterations of prototypes made in polyamide with selective laser sintering (SLS). In addition we developed CAD for production, a “Color Material Finish” specification, and renderings showing the desired visual appearance.
