On the market there is currently no device for infants in-case of emergency at sea. Reemsys approached Pivot to develop such a device that in case of evacuation of a vessel an infant can stand the best chances of survival.
This project involved a very structured and methodical approach. To name a few criteria the product needs to be able to handle drops, rough sea, tempreture variation, ventilation and drainage. Using 3D tools we were able to control buoyancy and stability. To confirm computed results we first created a 1:10 scale model and finally we produced a 1:1 prototype for ergonomics study and physical testing.
