The multi award winning Rangr was a good starting point for Hikr, the hinge technology had now been field proven for one season and zero reported failures.  We wanted to make Hikr compact, this was possible by making the shoe shorter and narrower.  Pushing the boundaries of the joint was essential to make the shoe narrower, with customized 3d printed jigs that simulated our desired snow snow width and ran it at the extreme of -40, the joint held the specified target. We ramped up the level of grip as this shoe is designed to perform on all snow types, we did this by shaping the snow shedding holes into a grater form to have very little resistance forwards but cutting grip when moving backwards. The tip has also been reworked for hardpack steeper terrain rather then deep powder the Rangr likes.
